CDSE stands for Combined Defence Services Examination. Every year UPSC i.e. Union Public Service Commission conducts CDS examination twice a year for the recruitment of Commissioned Officers in the Indian Armed Forces. As the name suggests it is a Combined Defence Examination for joining Indian Army, Indian Navy & Indian Airforce as an Officer by the courses carried out by Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Air Force Academy (AFA), Indian Naval Academy (INA) and Officers training Academy (OTA). Unlike NDA both Male and Female graduates are eligible to sit for the examination.
Combined Defence Services or CDS examination is conducted to recruit candidates in the Indian Armed Forces. Aspirants willing to become a part of Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Officers Training Academy, and Indian Air Force Academy can apply for the CDS exam and chase their dream career. Like NDA exam, Combined Defence Services examination is conducted twice a year UPSC. Candidates will be called for Service Selection Board (SSB) after qualifying CDS exam and after that, successful candidates will be appointed with their respective training academies.
In general, the notification for CDS examination is released in the month of October and June. And, the exam is conducted in the month of February and November. (v) For Officers' Training Academy - (SSC Women Non-Technical Course) Unmarried women, issueless widows who have not remarried and issueless divorcees (in possession of divorce documents) who have not remarried are eligible; they should have age between 19 to 25 years
